Gresham’s Cottage

Kingsdown, Kent

Gresham’s Cottage is an idyllic base from which to explore the dramatic coastline that surrounds. With its envious location, just a few seconds to the sea on Kingsdown Beach, Gresham’s Cottage offers more than a typical seaside getaway.

With the Coast Path just seconds from your doorstep, throw on walking boots and explore this beautiful corner of England. Trek through the ancient woodlands up at Kingsdown, under 0.5 miles away, where ivy-clad trees hide Kentish piskies, or head toward the cliffs behind the cottage and descend the steep staircase up to ancient clifftop grasslands with views over to France.
/>
Home from a day of adventuring, head back to Kingsdown Beach, at the end of the road, for a bracing dip in the sea or hunker down by the fireside with a cup of cocoa.

A hideaway designed for all seasons, the cottage has been styled using soft tonal hues which draw inspiration from the coastal landscape. Day or night, nestle into the sinkable sofa and gaze into the flickering fire. Welcome in the salty sea breeze in summer or hunker down by the fire on chilly nights as stars pinprick cloudless skies. Cool and calm in design, no detail has been overlooked to create a space that is both restorative and inspirational.

The nearest local town is Deal, a picturesque and quaint coastal town, once the busiest port in England. Here, wander down the award-winning high street (voted Best High Street, by the Telegraph as well as Best Place to Live, by the Times) dotted with independent shops, cafes and a great choice of restaurants. Health goes hand in hand with happiness here, along with bucket-loads of history including three Tudor castles!

We have stayed here many times before and just love the huge lounge and dinning room. The location is brilliant with a view to die for. Booking process was very efficient and we were kept informed along the way. A quirky residence that ticks lots of boxes

Lovely, spacious house. Super enclosed garden. Excellent functional kitchen with all facilities. Enjoyed our short stay and would highly recommend to anyone considering a stay in Deal. Booking process good with clear informative emails from Ally. Thank you.

This is a gorgeous little cottage in an idyllic location right on the beach. The view of the sea from the main bedroom window is amazing to wake up to. It makes getting out of bed very difficult. We left the top of the stable door open when we were home letting in the breeze and all the sounds of the sea, holidaymakers on the beach and seagulls in. The whole atmosphere had a lovely Enid Blyton vibe of long adventurous, hot sunny days at the seaside, calling the family in off the beach for their evening meal. It was the most perfect holiday. The cottage also has a log burner so I imagine it would be very cosy in colder seasons too.

The house was at a great location, right near the seafront and High Street. It was fabulously decorated with great attention to detail. The only slight drawback was that you couldn't park outside all day but there was plenty of parking on the surrounding streets.

Had an absolutely amazing stay for friends birthdays, the house was perfect in every. Immaculately clean, great central location for Deal town and the beach. Lots of top tips given at the house of where to visit, restaurants, bars etc and added bonus of a beautiful little garden. Thank you, would definitely return.

We had a ladies two night getaway and had a lovely time. Central House is a little quirky but in a nice way. The view of the sea from the 1st floor living room is fantastic and, surprisingly, the location is very quiet. Lovely big kitchen with all you need for preparing meals Lots of restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance. But, best of all, being able to run across the road to swim whatever the state of the tide. Wonderful!
