Just a short stroll from the award-winning High Street, the beach and the historic 16th-century Deal Castle, The Nut is a beautifully presented period home offering the rare luxury of a large front garden, enclosed private parking and spacious open-plan living. Thoughtfully furnished for relaxing breaks by the sea, it's perfectly placed for exploring this beautiful stretch of the Kent coast.

Sleeping four guests, the heart of the home is a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, creating a welcoming space to cook, dine and spend time together. As the evenings draw in, the log burner provides a
wonderfully cosy place to unwind after a day by the coast.
Upstairs, two beautifully appointed bedrooms offer a peaceful retreat, complemented by a dedicated dressing room with plenty of space to unpack and settle in. The large modern ground-floor shower room and first-floor cloakroom make the house particularly practical for families and friends. Outside, the generous front garden catches the morning sun, making it the perfect spot for breakfast or coffee, while the west-facing rear garden is ideal for afternoon sunshine, al fresco dining and relaxed summer evenings.

Whether you're browsing independent boutiques, enjoying fresh seafood on the seafront, visiting the historic 16th-century Deal Castle, calling into one of the town's characterful historic pubs or strolling the coastline towards Walmer, The Nut is a wonderfully comfortable base from which to experience everything this special corner of Kent has to offer.

A little history
Long before it became a holiday home, this charming property was known locally as The Nut. We've kept the name as a nod to its past, preserving a small piece of the home's history and the character that makes it so special today.

Things to note
  • The Nut is a characterful period property set over three floors (ground, first and second floors).
  • As with many older homes in Deal, the staircase is fairly steep and may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility.
  • Families with very young children should be aware that the staircase may require extra supervision.
  • The property is just a short walk from the beach, cafés, restaurants and shops, so once you've arrived you can easily leave the car behind.

  • Parking

You can park at the back of the property, which is accessed via Hope Lane.

The garage door is remote-controlled. You’ll first need to collect the keys from the key safe at the front of the house. The garage fob is on the keyring.

Once you have the keys, drive a couple of doors down with Deal Castle behind you and turn left onto Hope Road, just a few yards away. Follow the road around to the rear of the properties. You’ll pass the parking for Pilot’s Lodge on your left, and The Nut is next door but one.

To open the garage door, point the fob towards the door and press the top button.

We have stayed here many times before and just love the huge lounge and dinning room. The location is brilliant with a view to die for. Booking process was very efficient and we were kept informed along the way. A quirky residence that ticks lots of boxes

This is a gorgeous little cottage in an idyllic location right on the beach. The view of the sea from the main bedroom window is amazing to wake up to. It makes getting out of bed very difficult. We left the top of the stable door open when we were home letting in the breeze and all the sounds of the sea, holidaymakers on the beach and seagulls in. The whole atmosphere had a lovely Enid Blyton vibe of long adventurous, hot sunny days at the seaside, calling the family in off the beach for their evening meal. It was the most perfect holiday. The cottage also has a log burner so I imagine it would be very cosy in colder seasons too.

The house was at a great location, right near the seafront and High Street. It was fabulously decorated with great attention to detail. The only slight drawback was that you couldn't park outside all day but there was plenty of parking on the surrounding streets.

We had a ladies two night getaway and had a lovely time. Central House is a little quirky but in a nice way. The view of the sea from the 1st floor living room is fantastic and, surprisingly, the location is very quiet. Lovely big kitchen with all you need for preparing meals Lots of restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance. But, best of all, being able to run across the road to swim whatever the state of the tide. Wonderful!
