Prospect Cottage is a cosy holiday home just a short stroll from the beach and Deal’s award-winning high street, which was recently voted ‘high street of the year’ by The Telegraph.

The interior of Prospect Cottage has been lovingly furnished and offers beach-chic styling to create a charming and relaxed holiday home. With two bedrooms and one bathroom, Prospect Cottage is the perfect base to explore Deal and its surrounding areas.

The south-west facing garden is an ideal spot to enjoy the fresh sea air, relax with a good book or enjoy a drink with friends or family ...
after a busy day exploring on foot or by bike. The sun terrace is a great place for al-fresco dining or just lazing in the sunshine. The cosy kitchen is well-equipped for cooking and has everything you’ll need to prepare a delicious meal. Fish lovers and foodies will want to visit Jenkins & Son, where you can buy local fresh fish, such as Dover Sole and Seabass.

If you want a break from cooking, then Deal has many restaurants to choose from, including the award-winning Frog and Scot, The Dining Club (a private dining club with exclusive access for guests booking Prospect Cottage) as well as traditional fish & chip shops and other independent places to eat in or take out. There are also several tempting coffee shops and bakeries, as well as many pubs, including The Zetland Arms and The Royal, both of which are situated right on the beach.

To work off all the lovely local cuisine, start with a blast of sea air: a brisk walk along Deal Pier, past fishermen trying their luck. You may also want to poke about the galleries and cool homeware shops or try the local market (held every Saturday in the town), selling locally grown produce, delicious baked goods, and French wines, as well as antiques.

In 2020, Deal was voted the ‘best place to live in the UK’ by The Sunday Times - and there’s good reason for it! In its own words, it is a “stylish seaside spot away from the gaze of the week-ending masses”. The Times

Whether you are relaxing, reading, cooking in the cosy kitchen or enjoying some music from your favourite playlist, Prospect Cottage is the perfect seaside bolthole. It has everything you need for a coastal escape!

Parking: Free limited-stay parking is available in Princes Street (no limit on Sundays). Unlimited free parking is available in surrounding streets. You can park on Beach Street (in certain bays) or Sandown Road, which is at the end of Middle Street (one road back from the sea). It should be around a 5 min walk back to the house along the beach if parking at Beach Street and likewise for Sandown Road. But both are long roads so it depends on how busy Deal is at that time.

The Local Area

Deal itself is bursting full of things to do and see. It has an award winning high street for starters where you can wander around an eclectic mix of shops ranging from interior design shops to delicatessens. Close by are 3 historic castles - Deal, Walmer and Dover and just a stone's throw from the house you can find the ruins of Sandown Castle.

The house is quiet and tranquil, but at the same time only a hop and a skip into the town for buzzy restaurants, bars and independent shops. Please note, we can provide shampoo for business ...
