If you do nothing else, you must go here. The Old Neptune (The Old Neppy to locals) located right the beach. The best time to go is for sunset and make sure you grab some oysters too. It’s full of old-school charm and the beers are reasonable prices too.

Did you know that when there’s an R in the month, it’s native oyster season (rock oysters are available all year). The Lobster Shack, back in the eighteenth century, was an oyster-grading house and now serves fresh Whitstable ones. What’s not to love!?

Be sure to book a few months ahead of time. The Sportsman at Seasalter jokingly calls itself a ‘grotty run-down pub’, but it’s a place of excellent food and a long waiting list for a table as a result!
